Dangerous hotel for women

2.0

This hotel has a true potential for being wonderful in terms of offerings. Instead it felt incredibly dangerous for women traveling solo. Stayed here for a mostly womens conference in July 2026. Checked in solo, had a suite. First night as I was unpacking I was on the phone with my husband as I prepped my clothes for the conference. All the sudden there was a loud knock at the door. I was nervous because admittedly it was late, around 11 pm. There were three men in security uniforms waiting outside. I assumed I might be in some danger and with my husband on the phone I answered. One of them leaned in the doorway and scolded me about a noise complaint. I gestured to my empty room and myself in my pajamas and they said the noise complaint concerned me being on the phone. I am a professional speaker so I know the volume of my voice and I was at a very low volume. Not a whisper, but not even normal speaking level, let alone loud, plus I was inside my room not in a public area or even the balcony. They then threatened me with this being my first and final warning and if I made another peep they’d be taking action before they stormed off. This felt like such an insane overreaction, especially when the front desk could’ve just called the hotel room (I had been on my cellphone, so there was a working phone in the room with a clear line). I spent the conference on eggshells worried of another scary interaction with their security. Two days later my assistant came to my room mid morning to drop off coffee. She was in the room with me no more than two minutes at 8:30 in the morning. When she left a man, presumably the neighbor who made the noise complaint, was waiting for her, and confrontationally told her to keep it down because his kid was sleeping. A kid I never heard, and if the walls were that thin—wouldn’t I have heard a child? I have children myself, but it was also 8:30 am. He then stayed outside my room banging on the door long after she was able to get away. I didn’t feel safe talking to the security after their reaction the first night so I waited until he left. I ran into a female employee while hurrying to the conference and told her of the situation and my room number. She seemed to at least take it seriously. I checked out a whole day early, and told the front desk I was checking out because I did not feel safe and the receptionist just shrugged and he said it didn’t matter. I explained the seriousness of the situation and how uncomfortable I was and my assistant was and he seemed to not care at all. I left and stayed at a different hotel for the rest of my stay in Orlando. The next day a woman from the Marriott called to follow up but said I couldn’t prove there was an issue because they didn’t have cameras in the halls “for privacy.” A huge security red flag. Since when does privacy outweigh security? Who are they actually protecting with that? Obviously no women were in the room when they made that decision. She seemed concerned but swore to call back and never did. I’m unconvinced there was any follow up. Further I spoke with other women later who were also at the conference. One reported a security issue with multiple harassment’s that the event handled instead of the venue. Another said men on some sports team were going up to women’s rooms and slamming on the doors to scare them with no security response. Another said a group of older teen boys were throwing water bottles off balconies by the pool and narrowly missed a pregnant woman. From a four story balcony that is a weaponized projectile. Workers did nothing in response. This hotel does not value women’s safety. Or frankly anyone’s. It’s supposed to be a resort for families and it’s clearly not that either and people were over served falling over drunk in the lobby at all hours. I’d never bring my kids here and I certainly would never travel here solo again. The building and facilities are nice but the security and responding staff were awful. The fact men can lurk outside your room/ confront you and the hotel will do nothing but think it’s appropriate to send three security men to a solo traveling woman’s room at night for a simple noise complaint should tell you enough. Save your money. Protect yourself.

A great place for a stay with a child

Mostly everything

Weekend guests of the facility were very noisy. I’m not sure they were hotel guests. The weekday experience was very different from the the weekend experience.

Thank you for your hospitality and Hector - you are the best!

**Orlando World Center Marriott** A properly indulgent resort, and exactly what we needed after weeks on the road. The water park and the lazy river were a perfect break from the Orlando theme parks. My wife and I claimed the lazy river as our own and floated our way through the afternoons — you don't realise how much you need a day off your feet until you get one. What we'll remember most, though, is Hector, the head of security. We had an incident near the end of our stay, and he went out of his way to help us — not with sympathetic nods, but with a genuine can-do approach and a real effort to solve it. On a long trip, meeting good people like that is what turns a stay into a good memory. Thank you, Hector. We'd be happy to come back on a future visit, and we'll certainly be recommending the resort to our friends. Highly recommended.
